Who needs a visa?

Whether you need a visa depends on your nationality, the origin of your journey and your travel plans. You can check the link below to see if you need to apply for a visa. If this applies to you, please apply as soon as possible, as there may be delays in processing.

Some Recommendations
  • Plan your travel in advance.
  • Portugal is part of the Schengen Area. CONTROLO 2026 participants who require a visa can apply for a short-stay Schengen visa (up to 90 days).
  • Check with the Portuguese embassy or consulate in your country of residence regarding recommendations and any other important queries. Follow the instructions carefully.
  • Regulations may change. Please check the official website of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs via the link below.
Visa Letter

Official letters of invitation to support visa applications are available only to REGISTERED and PAID participants. These participants will be required to provide: 1) Full Name (as shown in their passport), 2) Nationality, 3) Type of registration (member of APCA/Partner, non member, student, etc.), 4) Associated Papers (if applicable).

Please note: the letter of support does not guarantee that your visa application will be successful, and it exempts the CONTROLO 2026 Organizing Committee from any financial obligations.
