Visiting the Gardens
Quinta das Lágrimas has a world class collection of gardens in its park: romantic, Japanese, medieval, a garden of scents, an organic chef’s garden and extensive woods. The garden has a rich variety of rare and large trees that have been growing here throughout the centuries, bamboo woods and pleasant lawns to read and relax to the sound of the over 20 species of birds that live here.

Welcome Reception
The CONTROLO 2026 Welcome Reception will take place on Wednesday (09 September 2026), from 18:30, at the Romantic Garden. Get ready to enjoy drinks and canapés (finger foods) and expand your network with other colleagues 🥂.
Gala Dinner
The Gala Dinner on Thursday (10 September 2026) is the most prestigious event of CONTROLO 2026. Enjoy a special dinner menu prepared by the staff from Quinta das Lágrimas in their “Tent” (Tenda). Take the opportunity to strengthen your bonds with your colleagues even further whilst enjoying the food accompanied by some great music (Fado & Tuna).
As for the dress code, although it’s a “chic” occasion, don’t worry about dressing too formally. Obviously, don’t turn up dressed inappropriately. Be respectful towards the other guests.
UC BY NIGHT
UC BY NIGHT offers a unique guided tour, led by expert interpreters, full of history, interesting facts and charming moments. The guided tour includes emblematic places, such as the Palace of Schools (Paço das Escolas), the Chapel of St. Miguel and the Noble Floor of the Joanina Library. You will also have the opportunity to climb the Tower of the University of Coimbra and enjoy the panoramic view over the city.
The University of Coimbra (UC) is one of the oldest in Europe (1290) and is inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
